Kenton Nelson is a prominent contemporary American artist, whose work has been featured seven times as a New Yorker magazine cover. The style of Nelson’s paintings have their origins in American Scene painting, Regionalism, and the WPA murals of the 1930’s. Influenced by the soft propaganda of the advertisements of his youth, Nelson’s paintings idealize the ordinary, using the iconic symbols and fashion of his lifetime.
